100... 101... 102...

A few more than Mommy can do, anyway.

The Nguyen Signature Button Nose

Heard several minutes after Caleb was born: "He has my nose! YESSSSSSS..."

I have the best job in the world

There is the odd, rare moment where I do miss being a career woman. But there isn't a job in the world that would be worth missing a moment where my son looks at me like this.

Texas Hold'em!

Some day we will look back and laugh at the night where Papa almost lost Caleb in a poker match.

Caleb's halo of hair

Caleb has great hair. It's fluffy, it's soft, and it's brown. Sometimes it looks black, but in the light, you can tell that it's actually brown! We're wondering if perhaps it'll be curly (Luc had curly hair as a kid).

The mohawk ended up a little flat today due to a case of hat head and static, and in the afternoon light - I captured a photo of his great halo of hair.

Weekend highlights

We finally got some batteries for this toy that our friend Deb gave Caleb a while back. We showed it to Caleb and his eyes lit up. It was love at first bite.

So, we promptly took the toy away. He won't see it for the rest of the week.

Cruel? No.

We need to save some shiny new toys for the trip to Orlando this weekend. Something with novelty!

Caleb also got to spend lots of quality time with both sets of grandparents.

And, as usual, there was lots of good snuggle to be had.

Bonne fête Bonzo!

I was desperately trying to figure out how to outdo Sebastien's birthday message last week. Then I realized, there is no outdoing The Bonzo Way.

So happy birthday, dude.

Bonne fête Jean-Sebastien!

Happy 8th Birthday!

A good mohawk day

There was a moment of panic this weekend where I thought perhaps Caleb's hair was getting too long to support the infamous mohawk. He had experienced a bad case of hat head and the mohawk was looking not so mohawky and much more comb-over like.

I'm pleased to report this morning that all has returned to normal this morning:

(And since we've already covered our top news story, I'm pleased to also report that the sleeping situation has also significantly improved.)

For official mohawk purposes only

We're headed to Orlando for our friend Swoop's wedding in a few weeks. Caleb's passport just arrived in the mail today. Unfortunately, the last set of photos that were taken (with the orange velour tracksuit and the mohawk) weren't up to snuff according to the passport office due to a bit of glare.

(As a total aside, we asked the agent if there was a no-mohawk policy, and she responded with, "There isn't, but there should be a no-mullet policy!")

The new photos we had taken were just as cute, if you ask me:
